This is my b/f/f Carol and her adorable family. I know I have talked about Carol on here before but just in case you missed out . . . . Carol and I have been friends for 20+ years. We went to middle school, high school, and college together and then roomed together after college. She is the type of friend that you know you can count on day or night. I know because I have called her at 3am and she has come to my house to cry with me when I was going through a hard time. If I need advice I go to her. If I want to have a fun girls night out I call her. If I want to laugh so hard I cry I go visit her. I always assumed that everyone had a friend like this. I have realized over the years that we are truly blessed to have this one of a kind friendship. She is like a sister to me. My kids love her and they love playing with her kids. Our kids are the same ages (although she went and had a third baby without me - lol ) She cares about the world around her and strives to make it a better place. I can't leave her husband, Doug, out of this either. He just got back from India where he personally helped install a water purification system at an orphanage that desperately needed it. He didn't just send the money to get it done, He actually flew across the world to make sure it was done!!! As you can see I am crazy about this family. Always have been, always will be =) Enjoy their pictures!!

I have had so many newborns over the past month!! I know they are only a few weeks old when I photograph them but they already have their own unique personalities. This little cutie was wide awake the entire session. She was so curious and very alert. She seemed to be looking straight at my camera like she knew exactly what she was supposed to do =) Julia didn't realize that we were actually trying to get her to go to sleep - lol!! As you can see she finally gave up and decided to take a small nap =) She is the first girl in her family and has a house full of brothers to take care of her =) I will be taking their family pictures later in the year and I can't wait to see how much she has grown in that amount of time. Koschnick Family | Indianapolis Children's Photographer

This is the Koschnick family. I met Emily, the mom, at a Matilda Jane trunk show a few years ago. I love Matilda Jane clothes (as you will see in many of my photos!). We did a photo shoot with her kiddos and mine of the new line a few years ago and we have been friends ever since. One of the photos I took of her little girl, Lizzy, won first place at the fair this year. I always tease her and tell her that she made me famous =) Emily is a great mom, a wonderful friend, and a beautiful person inside and out. I am so glad that our paths crossed. It has been great getting to know her family and watching her kids grow. I plan to host a Matilda Jane trunk show in March. I met Kristin over a year ago when I walked into her new store on Mass Ave. I loved the store from the moment I walked in!!! The clothes are adorable and I loved how she had everything set up. We started talking and she asked if I would be interested in doing a promotion in the store for the Fall Art Gallery Walk. It was so much fun working with Kristin and the girls at Nurture this year. The event turned out great (Sessions sold out) and I had the opportunity to meet some wonderful kids/families in the process. I was so happy to have the opportunity to photograph Kristin and her family during my holiday sessions. Her little boy has the most gorgeous green eyes and jet black hair. He looks Hollywood doesn't he!?! He could be on the cover of a modern kids magazine. Her little girl had my heart at the first sound of her precious giggle. They have the sweetest family and two of the most gorgeous kiddos in town =) I look forward to working with Kristin again this year. Happy New Year!!!!

This is the Edens family. Can you believe how gorgeous each of their kiddos are!!! Little Miss L. has the most beautiful curly hair and Mr. E has the biggest brown eyes!! Miss N. is just plain sweet and has the cutest little smile. I love this family!!! Leslie is one of my best friends=) We have had so much over the past few years. I have really enjoyed getting to know her and her family =) We go to the same church so we get to see each other at least every week (ok I have missed a few weeks here and there - lol). I have know Mira's mommy since she was born =) She was friends with my sister, Lindsay, growing up. Our parent's have been friends for a very long time. It was great to meet Mira for the first time and re-connect with this beautiful family. Mira was a perfect angel for her photo shoot. She did everything I told her to do =) Mainly sleep and look cute - which was not a problem for her =) I know that Mira was an answered prayer for this family so I felt honored to take her very first photos. I met this family through my work with the Nurture store on Mass Ave. I photographed them this summer before baby Jia was born. Ishaan (their little boy) was one of my favorites to photograph. He was at a perfect age and was all smiles. Everyone that walked by just stopped and smiled at him. I was so happy when they called me to do their newborn photo shoot. Jia is the prettiest little girl. She has the most beautiful skin, big dark eyes, and a head full of gorgeous hair. I was able to capture a three generation photo as well. Nina's mom was visiting during the photo shoot so it was a great opportunity to get this memorable photo. This family will be moving soon and I will be very sad to see them go. I have really enjoyed getting to know them. Enjoy their sweet pictures!!

Smith Family | Littlest Heroes Project | Indianapolis Children's Photographer

This is little Noah and his adorable sister and brother. I have known this family for over 10 years (Wow!!). I remember running into Jeni last year at Trader Joe's. It's funny b/c I rarely go to Trader Joes so I don't think it was coincidence that we ran into each other - it was a planned meeting by our heavenly father. Jeni had Noah in her arms and he seemed a little sad that day. I asked Jenny how she was doing and she said good. She mentioned that Noah had to have some blood work that day b/c he had a lump that hadn't gone away. A lymph node possibly swollen from being sick etc... just a test to make sure all was well. I was certain all would be well and I said goodbye to Noah and Jeni and went on my way. I remember seeing a post on facebook shortly after. "Our worst fears have been confirmed - Noah has leukemia" My heart sank. I remember crying as I read the post and thinking of how their lives were about to change so suddenly and drastically. I followed their story online through the Caring Bridge (a site that Riley Hospital for Children developed for families going through similar struggles). I prayed for Noah to be healed (Along with hundreds of other family members, friends, and strangers). I am so happy to say that Noah came through this year with flying colors. He is so strong, brave, and happy. His hair is coming back and he looks more handsome than ever. His parents and siblings toughed out a really rough year and in the end God healed their little boy. I praise God for Noah's recovery and I thank him for this precious boy that will change the world one day. I know God has big plans for his life. I am so thankful that I am able to use my gift of photography to help in some small way. This family received a free session plus all of the digital images as my way of paying it forward. How cute is this little girl!?! I took her newborn photos almost one year ago (the cute baby in the bowl). She has grown so much and is just as cute as I remember =) Audrey was the easiest kid out of all my sessions (sorry it's true - lol). Her personality is so sweet. My holiday sessions were so much fun this year!! We had perfect weather both days and the kids were awesome =) My first location was at a local Christmas tree farm. I have been friends with Tricia (Mom of these cuties) since before we had kids =) Our kids were all born within weeks of each other and have been the best of pals over the years. I love the way she dressed them for this photo shoot. I even made her youngest smile which is a huge accomplishment since in the past she has only given me the stare down - LOL. Alyssa is a Senior at Avon High School. I had a great time on this photo shoot. Can you believe how beautiful this girl is?? I love her red hair, blue eyes, and great personality. We walked all around downtown and she was such a trooper. Our second location involved us carrying a couch to a corn field and Alyssa was in high heels!!! She was so great about it. This family is the sweetest, kindest, most genuine family you could ever meet. Their girls are precious and cute as can be. The parents are still madly in love after years of marriage. Handsome twins and a little princess

This family has the cutest little princess and the most handsome set of twins. We had such a good time together (minus all the flying bugs). Todd (the dad) carted the stroller, chair, and all of the other props all over the place as we traveled from one spot to another. Reese was the cutest little thing. She has the biggest blue eyes and beautiful long hair. You could tell the twins were best buds and enjoyed exploring and having fun. I love my job because I get to catch up with old friends (we went to high school together) and interact with children (so I get to have fun). Enjoy the pictures.

After a computer crash several weeks ago I am finally up and running again (although my computer still has a virus - Ughhh!!!). After not being able to post for several weeks I thought I would make up for it by posting this handsome senior guy =) He was a great sport throughout the entire photo shoot and easy as pie to photograph. His mom came along and was so sweet and helpful. Drew plays rugby at Avon (I wasn't even sure what rugby was and had to ask). This family is full of spunk. They have three boys and let me tell you they are all boy. From digging in the dirt to wrestling each other down these boys are the best of friends. They are so cute with their blond hair and big blue eyes. Each one with their own distinct personality - they make a powerful trio =) Their parents are gorgeous (as you can see) and you can tell after being with them for just a few short hours that they are wonderful parents. Etta was one of my good friends in high school. We cheered together and had some great times. She is now in California with her husband and three boys so it was a special treat for them to have these pictures taken on her parents property. I hope these memories will last a lifetime. Nurture Event - A huge success!!

This past weekend was the photography event at Nurture (the new children's store downtown on Mass Ave). I was so worried about the weather all week b/c it was showing rain for both days of the event. Well it's a good thing that you can't count on the weather channel =) We had perfect weather both days and the pictures turned out awesome!!! All of the kids and families were so much fun to work with and Kristin (the owner of Nurture) did a great job promoting the event and making sure everything ran smoothly. I am now in the process of editing 16 sessions - Whew!! I am going to post pics from each session over the next month. I will also post pictures from some of my recent family and senior sessions. Check back often!! I will probably be posting twice a week!! Thanks for visiting =)

This family is absolutely gorgeous!! I can see each of their kids on the cover of Parenting magazine. Simply stunning!! I had a great time with these kiddos. We laughed, played games, and explored this very cool farm. Reese has the most beautiful curls and the sweetest little voice. Trey is all boy and wanted to run and play. Myah was a little more shy as she is getting a little older but it didn't take long for her to warm up. I love how their pictures turned out. I think they will cherish these photos for years to come. They simply capture the innocence and wonder of childhood. It reminded me of a quote I read not to long ago " We don't stop laughing because we grow old, We grow old because we stop laughing" I couldn't agree more =) Enjoy the pictures.

Perfect Little Princess

This family is near and dear to my heart. We have been friends for many years now and I just love them (and their three beautiful girls) to pieces!!! Little Miss P. Had a rough start on life after coming into the world three weeks early. She spent over a week in the hospital and had to come home on oxygen and a heart monitor. As you can see from the pictures she is doing very well now and was able to come off of her oxygen this week - Praise God!!! She is the picture of health now and is cute as a button!! Her older sisters are just as cute and have the best personalities. My kids adore them and consider them to be some of their best friends. It was great to spend some together (and to have Chinese as well!!). Love you guys, Loree

I am excited to say that all of the slots for the Nurture Event are now full. Feel free to come to Mass Ave on September 4th from 5-9pm for the Fall Art Gallery walk to see photos from this event and check out the rest of stores on Mass Ave.
As of yesterday Loree Alayne Photography is completely booked for the rest of the year. If you would like to be put on the waiting list (in case of cancellations) email me your name and information. I will start booking sessions for 2010 starting in January.
If you have a session coming up I am looking forward to our time together. Also, Holiday Sessions are reserved for clients that have completed (or will be completing) a full session during the 2009 year. I will send more information on this event very soon.

Twins

These two cuties were so tiny and precious. I love their story. Mom and Dad have twin girls at home (fraternal) and decided to try for one more baby. Much to their surprise they were pregnant with twins again. This time one boy and one girl (Libby and Luke). It was a beautiful day outside so we decided to take them outside for a few pictures. Are these kids not the cutest things you've ever seen!!! I just love this family. I met Emily about a year ago at a Matilda Jane party. We did a little photo shoot together last year with our girls and have been friends ever since. I just went to Ft.Wayne last weekend with Emily and had such a wonderful time. Her husband was kind enough (and brave enough) to keep the kids for the weekend. He was so sweet when we returned and told us he had a wonderful time with the kiddos. The pictures turned out beautifully despite some mishaps along the way (Grady fell in the mud when he got there, Lizzy had to go number two as soon as we got started, I lost my voice that day so could hardly talk, and Grady had just gotten over an ear infection) They handled it beautifully and we captured some very sweet moments. Matilda Jane - Cocktail party and Art fair

This weekend I was invited by my friend Emily to attend the Matilda Jane pre-show and cocktail party at 435 (435 is the Matilda Jane warehouse). We had so much fun!! Friday night I was able to take a tour around Matilda Jane (because I went with Emily and Nicole - our Indiana MJC reps). It was so fun to see all the patterns, fabric, ribbons, buttons, ideas, and shelves upon shelves of MJ clothing. We attended a cocktail party that night and enjoyed wonderful food and met some outstanding people. On Saturday morning it was time for the Art Fair. People drove and flew from all over the country to come to this event!!!! People were lined up hours before they opened the doors. I was able to capture some of the cutest little girls while waiting in line. I also ran into a photographer friend of mine (Michelle Huesgen of Untamed heart photography). I call her my friend because we have been on the same photography forum forever but this is the first time I was able to meet her. She is just as sweet and beautiful as I imagined (I am a huge fan of her work). Her daughter is the cute blondy with curls. I was able to get some fabulous clothing items for my upcoming sessions - Yeah!!!! So if you have a session with me you will have the option of having me dress your little girl (Great, right!!) Thank you to everyone that has inquired about the Nurture event!! I wanted to post some pictures of the store (Isn't it awesome!!). I also wanted to let you know that you need to sign up in the store or call the store to sign up for a time slot for your session. I only have 12 spots available and a few of the slots have already filled. Times for sessions are August 7th from 5pm-8pm and August 8th from 9am-12noon. Nurture and Loree Alayne Photography teaming up

I am very excited to let you know about an upcoming event that I have been asked to participate in. Nurture is a fabulous new store for babies/kids age 0-6yrs. The store is located downtown on Mass Ave. The owner of Nurture also owns Silver in the City and At home in the city (two very cool stores). So here is the scoop .... I will be doing free photo sessions at Nurture (inside the store and at surrounding outdoor locations) on Aug 7th and 8th. To qualify for the session you have to buy an outfit from Nurture between now and Aug 7th. Your kiddos have to wear the outfit purchased from the store to the photo shoot. The photos will be displayed at the Fall Art Gallery Walk on Mass Ave from 5-9pm on Sept 4th. Several photos will be chosen as part of a display that will be in the store throughout the year. You will also receive a password to view and order pictures online from my website. See the attached postcard for more info. I would love to see some of your kids featured at the gallery walk and in the store this year. I have to be honest and say that I am totally in love with this location and the pictures of this session. Brad and Melissa are beautiful people (inside and out) and their kids are gorgeous (and very well behaved I might add!!). We had such a wonderful time together. The location is family owned and has been in the family for a long time. The Coverdale's have moved out of state so coming home and having photos taken in some of their favorite locations means the world to them. These pictures will remind them of family, of precious memories, and most importantly of home. There are so many wonderful pictures from this session so it was hard to pick just a few for the blog. This family of six is so much fun!!! I had such a good time on this photo shoot. They opted for an Urban session downtown. The kids really did great. They laughed, made funny faces, pouted, sang, explored, and had a fantastic time. We all had pizza together afterwards. Our families have been friends for a long time so it was fun spending time with them. Ezra is the same age as Hannah and Titus is the same age as Hudson. They get along great. Anna is the youngest and she is such a sweetie. Lauryn is the oldest and graduated this year from high school. I did her Senior pictures last summer. Jesus and Tricia are wonderful parents and truly giving in every way. Enjoy the pictures!!

This is Harper. I absolutely love her red hair and freckles. She was so much fun to photograph. Her personality is sweet, spunky, and energetic. Cute as a button that's for sure. We had a great time. Her mom and I cheered together in High School (yep I was a cheerleader). We have a lot of great memories together and now our daughters are the same age (age 6). I absolutely loved this session. The little girls were darling, the parents in love, and the bond between them very evident. I had such a good time with them. Last weekend I had the privilege of attending the "Hearts at Home" conference in Illinois with an amazing group of girls. It was so refreshing to hear from other mom's that are going through the same stages of life that I am. I love photography but my first love is God and my second is my family. God gave me the passion for art (photography) and I thank Him for that all the time. It is in photographing families, babies, and nature that I am reminded of how precious and perfect life is. I had so much fun on my first "dog session". Susan called to ask me if I would do a session with her and her dogs. I found out quickly that dogs are a lot like kids (no offense). They are won over with treats and lots of encouragement. The dogs were a little shy at first but warmed up after some treats and play time. I had a great time getting to know Susan. She made me some hot tea (so sweet) and shared some of her life with me. She is a beautiful person inside and out. I hope you enjoy these precious pictures.

Ezra - Birthday photos

Ezra and my daughter (Hannah) have known each other since birth. In fact we have a picture of them in the isolette together at the hospital after Ezra was born. They are only one week apart. It has been fun to see them grow and change over the years. They used to fight over toys and squabble with each other and now they can't wait to see each other and play together. This is little miss Anna. She came in for her first birthday session (including a smash cake session). We had so much fun watching her smash into her first cake. She started with just a taste and then went full force (feet and all) into the cake. My trip to Philly (with some of my favorite photographers!!)

I had the opportunity to spend three days in Pennsylvania with some of my very favorite photographers. 20+ photographers from around the country joined up in Philly to spend a few days together having fun, learning, and laughing. I must say I was sad to say goodbye. I learned soooo much from these girls and came away refreshed and rejuvenated for my upcoming sessions. We had dinner on Monday night at this cute little Cuban restaurant in downtown Philly. It took us a while to read the menu and in the end we just ordered and hoped for the best =) We also got to meet a famous chef (she is making brownies for Rachel Ray's show!!) Her pies were amazing!!!!! On Tuesday we traded tips, marketing ideas, and learned from some of the best photographer's in the country. I can definitely say this is one the best workshops I have ever attended. Enjoy the pictures!!

I am so sorry that I have not posted for over a week. I have been busy finishing up my website, ordering new business cards, editing the four sessions I had in the last two weeks, and trying to be a mom =) I am so excited to announce that my new website is now live. This is my sister (Anna) and her boyfriend (Phil). They were kind enough to let me practice on them. I got some new equipment and wanted to try it out so they were the lucky guinea pigs. It was cold and we had to walk through deep snow but they toughed it out. I had a great time and love the way the pictures turned out. I hope you do too!!!

I am so behind on posts from this Fall and Winter. This family was so sweet!! This session was done in late Fall and was one of my favorite. The kids were fabulous to work with (ok play with) and the parents were so sweet and still completely in love (after three kids!!!) The husband said "I just want to make sure we get some good shots of me and Amie" At the ordering session he commented on his favorite photo of the two of them. He said "We have to get that one b/c it shows off your beautiful eyes". They were so much fun to be with. It goes to prove that true love and happily ever after still exist =) Thanks for a wonderful session!!

This is Caroline. Her mom and I were roommates and great friends in college. J.T. (We called her J.T. because we had three Jennifer's in our sorority) was the responsible one of the bunch. She always cooked for us, looked out for us, and kept us in line =) I have so many fun memories with her. Now we both have kids of our own. Caroline reminds me so much of my daughter Hannah. This is LeeLee. She is soooo adorable!!! She belongs to a beautiful family. This was a mini holiday session at the park. It was very cold but this family loves the cold. They love Colorado and all the snow covered mountains. We ended up with some snow flurries at the end of our session. What fun. I can't say enough good things about this family. I just love'em!!!! A Beautiful Senior

This is Allison and she is beautiful!!! We went to her grandparents farm for this session. I loved it!! A rustic barn, old tractor, fields of gold, and lots of wide open spaces. The wind was crazy that day (straight out of Wizard of Oz!!). She wanted a picture with each of her band t-shirts on so I just decided to incorporate them all into one picture. We were losing sunlight in the end but I still think it turned out pretty cute. She was so sweet and so much fun. Enjoy the pictures!!!

Loree Alayne Photography is now a member of the Littlest Heroes Project. As a pediatric nurse for over 10 years I have always had a special love in my heart for children with terminal illness. Specifically those diagnosed with cancer. I want to use the gifts I feel God has given me in photography to give something back to these beautiful children and families. I came across the Littlest Heroes Project and knew this was something I wanted to do. If you know of anyone that would qualify for this special FREE session please email me for more information. Photographers have to apply for this position and are evaluated on their current work in order to ensure the best photos possible for these families. I am happy to say that I was accepted as of yesterday and will begin accepting children for this cause immediately. Is this girl beautiful or what!?! We had so much fun on this shoot. We went down dangerous alleys =) Survived very cold weather with lots of wind and even warded off some whistling guys (whistling at Jenny of course!). I had a great time on this shoot. Not only is Jenny beautiful and fun, She has a wonderful personality to match. On top of all that we will soon be family. Jenny's Aunt is going to marry my dad on December 20th. Very cool. I loved taking pictures for this family. They have the most beautiful house and property. This was our first time meeting but from the moment I walked in the door I felt like I had known them for years. They were so welcoming and kind. They have beautiful personalities to match. At our ordering session Mary Catherine was making an apple pie. She was chopping, pouring, sprinkling spices, etc...while talking and ordering. She didn't even pay attention to what she was doing. It just came natural. Most of you know I do not know how to cook so I was in complete amazement. Lucky for me she sent me the recipe. Of course I will have to pay very close attention as I make mine =) Anyway, I can't say enough good things about my experience with them. I could tell they were a close knit family. It made my day. The location for this shoot was fabulous!! It was a perfect location for two little boys. We ran through fields, made wishes on dandelions, moo-ed with the cows, sat on tractor wheels, and laughed over the funny things boys do. Caleb is curious, on the move, and into everything!! He has the most beautiful blue eyes and sweet little grin. His big brother Ben is adventurous, independent, and all boy!!! He laughed only when we told him "You better not laugh!!!" Completely reminded me of my daughter Hannah. Colleen and Kyle are wonderful parents. I enjoyed watching this wonderful family interact with each other. I always enjoy being around them. Commercial Shoot: Paula Prass for Michael Miller Fabrics - More to come!!

If your into sewing/fabrics you have definitely heard the name Michael Miller. Michael Miller is a huge name in the fabric world and I am excited to say that Paula Prass (of Paula Prass Designs and Mimi's collection) will be designing fabrics for this amazing company. I was thrilled when they asked me to shoot their first line of fabrics!!! I was able to get a sneak peek of her new fabric line "Flights of Fancy" while doing their session. I wanted to order one of every dress, pant set, twirly skirt, jacket, chair, pillow, etc..... Everything is absolutely stunning!!! The colors and prints are fun, fresh, and fabulous!!!! We had a wonderful time during our session (ok minus the gazillion mosquitoes!!!) Amelia and Elly were perfect little models. Miss Spunky (Amelia) and Mr. Calm (Wyatt)

I love these pictures. I know I am the photographer but I just really love the way these turned out. It helps that the kids are absolutely gorgeous. Wyatt is calm, cool, easy =) Amelia is spunky, full of personality, and fast as lightning =) The great thing is that they compliment each other. You can tell that they really love each other and are the best of friends. Jenny and Joe were great throughout the entire shoot. I think they were completely wiped out by the end of our session. I have known both of them since high school (I won't tell you how long that is!!) Let's just say we had our 15 year reunion last year (or was it two years ago). Anyway, we go waaaay back. Oh how I love little Miss LeeLee!!! She is sweet, spunky, fun, and cute as a button. We had such a good time on this Urban photo shoot. LeeLee loved the red petti-skirt I brought her. She loved spinning and twirling in this "princess" skirt. We walked all around Mass avenue and she was such a trooper. Her personality kept me laughing all evening. She is a wonderful little girl. I had a great time taking pictures for this family. We headed downtown to the canal for our photo shoot. It was very hot!!! I was impressed at the endurance of the family and little Addison. We walked a long way and got some fabulous photos. I was happy that the weather (although hot) held out for us. The weather station predicted 80% chance of rain. I have known this family for a very long time. Arin and I used to have sleep-overs at our friend Tammy's house. We used to talk about what life would be like to be married. We also talked about having kids one day. I can't believe Arin has now been married almost 10 years!!! I remember when her first baby (Hayden) was born. He used to throw up on me every time I held him =) He was so sweet and so much smaller =) As you can see they have added two beautiful girls to the mix as well. Enjoy!!!

Everyday Miracle

I said a prayer on the way to my shoot (I always do) and asked God to help me get some great shots of this new miracle that He created. I know that these will be his very first photos and probably his most cherished. One of the reasons I love photography is because it puts me face to face with the glory of God's creation. I was in awe of God as I looked at baby E's ten tiny toes, ten small fingers, and soft, smooth skin. He was so sweet and so precious. I know babies are born everyday but it's still a miracle to me. Thanks to the Bishops for entrusting me with these first precious photos.

I had so much fun with this trio. Each one is unique with a different personality. Miss Myah is sweet and soft spoken, Trey is all boy, and Reese is full of spunk!!! We strolled the store fronts, had a concert, played in the alley-way, and threw pennies into a fountain. I think I had just as much fun as they did. We came away with some great pictures. Pictures that capture the bond between them and the different personalities they posses. Aren't they the cutest?!!! Enjoy.

If you know me, you know I love photography. Mostly because I love children, memories, miracles, and the outdoors.

I'm inspired by photographing children playing in the natural beauty of the outdoors; likewise, capturing the first moments of newborn babies reminds me that life is a miracle. Every smile, giggle, and squeal, every sunset and beautiful blue sky, every proud glance from a mom or dad at their child reminds me of my Creator who took the time to make each and everyone of us special and unique. He set the stars, sun, and sky in motion. Without Him there would be nothing to photograph and nothing worth remembering.
